We have taken part in the Annual Fun Walk for the past seven years and we receive 30-50 % of the Bonus pot for donations received. We will be doing our walk at Wat Tyler Park by the end of June.

We are a volunteer base charity so any funds received go towards our running costs. If you would like to donate, please press on the donation button at the top of the web site.

John Baron, the Member of Parliament for Basildon and Billericay, started the Fun Walk with his team in 2002 to commemorate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee.

In 2013 the Fun Walk became a registered Charity, and it is now officially known as The Fun Walk Trust (Registered Charity number: 1151626)

The Fun Walk Trust organises the annual walk, normally held at Barleylands Farm, Great Burstead, leaving organisations free to focus on raising sponsorship money and enjoying the event.

The BONUS POT is a unique feature of The Fun Walk and is donated by generous local businesses and individuals. In 2002, the first Fun Walk raised £6,000 for six charities and projects. Since it’s inception the total raised is £1,362,000. Charities with their supporters walk the distance of 2k 0r 5k anytime during June.

This year the fun walk will take place at Wat Tyler Park on Wednesday 29th June, from 10:30am.  We hope to see as many of you there as possible.  A few of us will walk around the park, but those of you that aren’t able to can enjoy a cup or tea and a biscuit.
